While it doesn’t seem a moment since July, the first concert of the Isle of Wight Symphony Orchestra’s 2016/2017 season is fast approaching. Some tickets are still available for purchase from Medina Theatre, and if you’d like to help spread the word about the evening’s programme why not download a poster or flier?poster

Bush’s Yorick Overture gets the new season off to a good start, with Beethoven’s Triple Concerto following on. Mendelssohn’s “Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage” overture and the ever-popular Enigma Variations from Elgar round out what will undoubtably be a great evening of music.

Making their first appearance with the IWSO will be the Stankov Ensemble; originally from Bulgaria, since settling in the UK, they have performed individually and together to great critical acclaim at all the major chamber music venues in London including the Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, St-Martin-in-The-Fields, King’s Place and the Purcell Room, as well as at the Royal Albert Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Glasgow Concert Hall, St. George’s Hall, and De Montfort Hall, to name a few.
