It may be dull outside, but the evening of the 23rd of January is set to be a lively one at Medina Theatre as the Isle of Wight Symphony Orchestra puts on another concert full of wonderful music.
Beginning with Richard Rodney Bennett’s Farnham Festival Overture, and following with Mendelssohn’s Nocture from A Midsummer Night’s Dream the orchestra set the scene for visiting soloist Richard Harwood to perform Elgar’s Cello Concerto in E minor.
After the interval Dvorák’s 6th Symphony provides the entertainment for the remainder of the evening.
The first two items of the concert will be conducted by Gareth Balch while the Concerto and the Symphony will be conducted by Major Tony Smallwood rtd (Royal Marines).
