Join us for our third concert of the season on Saturday 16th March at Medina Theatre in Newport, 7.15pm.
As well as the passion and violence of de Falla’s Ritual Fire Dance, you can hear one of the country’s leading trombonists, Peter Moore in Bloch’s dramatic Symphony for Trombone and Orchestra. Peter is the youngest ever winner of the BBC Young Musician of the Year, triumphing in May 2008 when he was just 12 years old. He has gone on to become co-principal trombonist with the London Symphony Orchestra, the youngest ever member of the orchestra.
Topping and tailing all of this is Copland’s early Outdoor Overture and the crowning glory of Elgar’s 1st Symphony.
